Innovation is central to Emprise Concepts’ mission. We actively develop next-generation tools that advance how ground risk is understood, quantified, and managed across infrastructure systems. Our research portfolio includes federally funded innovation programs through the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) and the National Science Foundation (NSF), focused on real-time geohazard forecasting and dynamic ground model updating.
Real-Time Geohazard Risk Forecasting
Under a USDOT SBIR Phase I award, we are developing a Geohazard Risk Forecasting Tool designed to integrate satellite remote sensing, weather forecasts, terrain data, and infrastructure records into a probabilistic, forward-looking hazard assessment system. The objective is to shift infrastructure management from reactive hazard response to proactive risk forecasting, identifying increasing ground hazard conditions before failure occurs.
Real-Time Ground Model Updating & Uncertainty Reduction
Through an NSF STTR Phase I award, we developed the computational platform, Mosaic Geovision, that integrated geotechnical investigation data, instrumentation, and construction monitoring into a continuously updating ground model. The development was undertaken in partnership with the Colorado School of Mines.
The system leveraged geostatistics, numerical modeling, and machine learning to:

The platform established a new paradigm for underground construction, transforming static pre-construction models into dynamic decision-support tools.
